Accessibility Statement

1. Scope

This accessibility statement applies to the online shop of Themyricals at the domain https://www.themyricals.de. We are committed to making our website accessible in accordance with applicable requirements for accessible digital services.

2. Current Status of Accessibility

This online shop is partially compliant with the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA. The following content or functions are not yet or not fully accessible.

3. Known Deficiencies and Planned Measures

During an internal review, the following barriers were identified that have not yet been remedied:

3.1 Insufficient Contrast Ratio

Affected: WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.4.3 (Contrast – Minimum, Level AA)

Some text elements and interactive controls (e.g., buttons, links, labels) have a contrast ratio that does not meet the minimum requirement of 4.5:1 (normal text) or 3:1 (large text) according to WCAG 2.1. This can significantly impair readability for users with visual impairments, color blindness, or in poor lighting conditions.

Planned Measure: Revision of the color scheme of all affected elements based on a systematic contrast check using tools such as the WCAG Color Contrast Checker. Implementation as part of the next design update.

3.2 Missing Alt Text for Images

Affected: WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content, Level A)

Numerous product images as well as decorative and informative graphics in the shop currently lack meaningful alternative text (alt attributes). For users who rely on screen readers or other assistive technologies, these image contents are not or only insufficiently perceptible.

Planned Measure: Systematic addition of descriptive alt text to all images according to their respective information content. Purely decorative images will be marked with an empty alt attribute (alt="") to correctly identify them for assistive technologies.

3.3 Too Many Colors in Images / Missing Alternative Representations

Affected: WCAG 2.1 Success Criterion 1.4.1 (Use of Color, Level A)

Some images and graphics in the shop convey information exclusively through color without supplementary visual distinguishing features (e.g., patterns, shapes, labels). Additionally, high color complexity in images makes perception difficult for people with limited color vision (e.g., red-green color blindness).

Planned Measure: Revision of affected graphics by adding text labels, patterns, or icons as supplementary information carriers. Ensuring that color is never the sole means of conveying information.
